boomsatsuma is proud to be an education partner to The Bottle Yard Studios. Our classroom is based on site where our Film & TV Production Diploma students, aged 16-19, develop skills across a range of different disciplines including TV and film production and postproduction, cinematography, VFX, animation, sound recording and design.
Students are taught curriculum-facing projects to earn this OCR Cambridge Technicals Extended Diploma which is a nationally recognised qualification equivalent to 3 A Levels and worth up to 168 UCAS tariff points. The course equips young people with a range of skills to enable them to choose the career progression route that suits them, whether that be university, an apprenticeship, further training, employment or freelancing.
Working with productions and tenant companies based at the Studios, we strive to give our students the extra opportunity to go ‘behind the scenes’ and witness a real filming environment first-hand, by arranging set tours, talks with production crew and in some cases, work experience or runner positions.
