The Bottle Yard Studios is delighted to announce that it has become an official partner of the British Film Commission (BFC), the UK Government’s lead agency responsible for maximising and supporting the production of international film and television in the UK.
It joins an exclusive group of leading film and television industry partners, including the Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros., HBO, BBC Worldwide, 3 Mills, Harbottle & Lewis, Pinewood Studios Group, Saffery Champness, Coutts, Double Negative, Elstree Studios, Framestore, MPC and Working Title.
British Film Commission Chief Executive Adrian Wootton said: “This is the busiest period in recent history for the UK film and television production industry. With studio capacity being a particular focus for the BFC, the team works hard to promote the studio and infrastructure offer throughout the UK’s nations and regions to international producers. The Bottle Yard Studios has become an essential part of this offer, particularly since the launch of the High-end Television Tax Relief in April 2013. The BFC already enjoys a close working relationship with The Bottle Yard Studios and we hope that this stronger partnership between our two organisations will help to further increase awareness of the studio and build on its already impressive roster of high-end production clients.”
Fiona Francombe, Studio Director of The Bottle Yard Studios, said: “We’re were incredibly proud to be invited to become an official partner of the British Film Commission. Having seen an increase in high-end international TV productions like Wolf Hall and Galavant coming through The Bottle Yard Studios’ doors last year, we have sent a strong message to the international production community that we have everything a production of scale should possibly need. We’re delighted to take this opportunity to work with BFC as an official partner, to reinforce that message and to help attract more productions into the UK, and into Bristol.”
With experienced teams in the UK and the US, the BFC provides free, tailored production support for international film and television production at the very highest level, from the earliest stages of development through to post-production. The BFC leads on attracting and supporting these productions, offering guidance on the UK’s tax reliefs, assisting with sourcing key UK crew, talent and facilities and troubleshooting. The BFC is also responsible for the international promotion of the UK industry and liaison with Government to secure and maintain film-friendly policies.
The Bottle Yard Studios recently hosted the BFC’s High-end Television Fam trip in April 2015, which took a group of key senior decision-makers from the North American TV industry on a carefully-curated tour of the UK’s locations, facilities, studios and crews across all the UK regions and nations.
