Wolf Hall
Golden Globe and BAFTA award-winning adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s Booker Prize-winning bestseller, starring Damian Lewis, Mark Rylance and Claire Foy. Based production at The Bottle Yard Studios from May – August 2014.
During pre-production the team built sets and stocked props on site. During filming, the team’s location at the Studios provided easy access to an impressive range of locations used during the four month shoot, including National Trust properties Montacute House, Barrington Court, Lacock Abbey, Great Chalfield Manor, Chastleton House and Horton Court.
Bristol locations included the Harbour Walls and Bristol Cathedral, which doubled as Westminster Abbey for the ‘coronation of Anne Boleyn’ scene. Bristol Film Office worked closely with the team to assist with recces around the city, liaising with the Cathedral and Harbour Office and ensuring permits and parking arrangements were in place to help filming run smoothly at city centre locations.
